Price:
ZERO fees, Student Allowances are available to eligible Students via StudyLink

20 weeks, full time (part time options available and course length can be extended based upon the needs of the individual learner)*

Qualifications gained: 
New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 1)
Graduates will also have gained the necessary literacy and numeracy unit standards towards NCEA  


Entry criteria:
16 and older, or 15 years old with a Ministry of Education early leaving exemption, NZ citizen or Permanent Resident currently living in New Zealand. You must have a level of physical fitness to enable you to deal with the practical elements of the programme, and you must not already hold a level 2 qualification. All students will be interviewed prior to enrolment to ensure the suitability of the programme to your needs and aims.

 

Further education pathways and career options:
Graduates will be capable of moving into a wide range of Level 2 programmes to further their studies, graduates are not bound to specific industries or streams.  The NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills includes 60 credits towards NCEA and further study at RTC in Automotive, Building, Hospitality, Forestry or ICT programmes will include the remaining credits to gain NCEA Level 1 and Level 2.
